- Track Layout Design: after the table was built, I had to decide which layout would be optimal for what I was looking for, i.e. a road/street course where the utilization of the available table space had to be maximal.

The following is dedicated to Artin 1/43 Layouts
- Tracker 2000 definition file with Artin 1/43 tracks (I had to create my own definition file for Artin 1/43 as it does not exist in Tracker2000. If interested, you can download the file, right click and save as).
- Le Mans: to build this layout in Artin 1/43 you will need: 47 straights, 10 1/2 straights, 32 R1 45 deg curves, 36 R2 30 deg curves. To complete this layout, you will also need to cut two additional R2 30 degree curves in half to get four 15 degree curves)
- Spicing up your layouts: In Artin 1/43, the following two track pieces are available: the Split piece (left, part number 4551, $10) and the Join piece (right, part number 4550, $10).
Carrera Go 4x8 Layouts Ideas
Based on the existence of these pieces, I have modified the split piece (left picture) so that the direction in which the cars exit that track piece can be remotely controlled from the pits. See the details here. All you have to do to make this is buy a railroad model track point motor/switches (about $6.00 each) and be willing to do some cutting of plastic.

The Carrera Track Layout Planner was an official slot car track editor from Carrera. It is no longer available on their website but we have provided a version here for you to download and use. The layout planner allows you to design slot car tracks using Carrera Exclusiv, Evolution, Profi and GO track types. You can enter your own track pieces into an inventory and the program will calculate the difference between what you have between any track you designed. This allows you to know what Carrera track you need to complete your layout.
The design software has the ability to automatically place track borders and supports the planning of track sections needed for creating multi lane slot track layouts from 4 to 8 lanes. For larger slot car tracks that will need additional power terminals, the planner can automatically calculate that and place those into the design as well.
The program features a floor plan designer which allows you to layout your room size. Above all, you want your track layout to fit in the area you have available! In addition, the program includes the ability to print the layout and track section list. This slot track designer was based on the SlotMan Track Designer software.

There are several other slot car track planners available for Carrera if you want to try those as well. Some of them contain the new Digital 132 track components more common today. For instance, one that we have recently found and like is actually an online tool called Softy Bahnplaner. Be sure to check out all the track plans available for Carrera as well.
